PROPOSAL TO AMEND CONSTITUTION
Whereas Section #119 now reads:
Qualifications of Applicant. A Candidate for initiation or affiliation in a Kentucky Lodge shall be a man of the age of twenty-one (21) years or more and of good report. (2000)
Amend Section #119 to read:
Qualifications of Applicant. A Candidate for initiation or affiliation in a Kentucky Lodge shall be a man of the age of eighteen (18) years or more and of good report.
REASONS FOR AMENDMENT:
1. At the age of eighteen, a young man is eligible to serve our country, if he so chooses, and put his life on the line, and be drafted.
2. When a man turns eighteen, he can legally get married, without parental consent.
3. There is not much difference in maturity between an eighteen and a twenty-one year old.
4. At eighteen, a young man could begin his Masonic journey, and this could possibly help him to start on a good life’s path.
5. Eligible to vote
